Get ready for the crowd.

International trade shows are a great way to get your name and business out there to be seen by customers and other businesses from all over the world alike. There’s just one problem: how do you make yourself stand out amongst all the other booths?

Well there are quite a few different tricks and tips that we’re offering to you to make sure that people not only visit your booth but remember your business and help it to grow! So without further ado here are our favourite ways to stand out at trade shows.

Man The Decks

One rule of trade shows is never leave your booth unattended – you’re missing out on potential business! Always make sure there are at least two of you to work a booth or exhibit as this means there will always be someone there to greet visitors, answer questions and hand out any information that potential customers may need. This means that one person can tour the floor, take not of what the competition are doing and how they are using their space and selling tactics, while you may not be able to recreate them now you’ll be able to remember them for future shows.

Make A Memory

Everyone loves getting something when they visit trade shows, it may be a pen, pencil, mouse-mat or mug but its a sure fire way of getting your brand name into that persons home or business and having it seen by the people who use it. So have something ready to hand out to potential buyers and make sure its useful, colourful and has all your essential information on it – just make sure that its useful and relevant to the customer!

Looking Good

Make sure both your staff and your booth are presentable as this can be a sure fire way to make an impression and be better remembered. You may have a set way of putting things up in your booth, how has this worked for you in the past?

Custom tradeshow displays can be a fantastic way to land new customers and get people interested in your brand. There’s a lot to be said for being different among the myriad of stalls and companies such as http://www.exhibe.com can help you do just that.

Does your look need to be updated? Should you give any booth staff badges or t-shirts/jackets with your logo to help present a good company image? Presenting a professional image extends past smiles and uniforms, make sure that your booth is clean and tidy and that your representatives engage customers because it’s key to…

Treat Everyone Well

Whilst not everyone that walks into your booth will be an immediate customer you want to sell yourself as being polite and personable because you may be remembered and given business further down the line when the customer is in a position to use you. Make sure both yourself and your staff treat everyone with equal courtesy and answer any questions as helpfully as possible. You never know how much a smile and a kind word can affect someone until they tell you they remembered your cheerful and helpful disposition from the trade show.

Whilst you may feel like there are large gaps between potential customers visiting your booth remember that you are always on show and it will harm your image if you look bored, use the time in between productively – organise your display, put out more samples and use the down time to let others go visiting competitors and give you a report from a different perspective. Above all be friendly, courteous and polite and you will see your customer base expanding in no time.
